Caught on camera – Exorcism at Texas park
TEXAS (CNN) — Witnesses say three people were performing an exorcism in a public park in Texas Thursday morning.
“They start getting louder and louder and louder, she was on the ground and they were standing over her with hands on her and screaming ‘Satan, I demand that you depart’ and it went on and on and on, but it was very bizarre!” one witness said.
The witness says her day usually starts with a perusal of the Bible and a quick prayer, but today was just a little bit different.
Eye witnesses who were at the scene earlier in the morning during the incident say the three people were originally sitting on a bench before they moved to the ground in front of a pond.
Texas Clergyman Father Dave Hoxly was especially concerned about the incident.
“They person who they are exorcising and that, that person is getting the care they need,” he said.
He says exorcism is the removal of an evil spirit through the use of prayer and originates from the Gospel of Jesus.
“Overriding thought in that is I hope the people doing it had some level of training,” he said.
Police say they were called to the scene, but since it is not illegal to perform an exorcism in a public place, they did not take action.
They also say no one was injured.
