Dark Thirty Radio – June 15th, 2016

Tonight on Dark Thirty Radio  Extraterrestrial Response May Not Arrive For Another 1,500 Years A new study suggests that just because we haven’t heard from extraterrestrial life, doesn’t mean we won’t, it will just take a lot more time than previously hoped. Astronomy student Evan Solomonides from Cornell University, due to the sheer size of the Milky Way, it could be up to 1,500 years before we can reasonably expect to hear back from any extraterrestrials who’ve picked up our transmissions from Earth. Although 1,500 years seems like a long wait for a response that may never come, the researchers are quick...

NASA Asked To Stop Funding ‘How Alien Life Could Impact Christianity’

The Freedom From Religion Foundation is now asking NASA to refrain from investing any more money towards a two-year project Study How Alien Life Could Impact Christianity. Last year, the NASA Astrobiology Program gave a $1.108 million grant to the Center for Theological Inquiry, for a project intended to refresh and expand scholarly and public dialogue on this subject, which is of growing interest due to the discovery of thousands of extrasolar planets and the ongoing search for potentially habitable environments in our solar system and beyond. CTI’s director William Storrar said, “The aim of this inquiry is to foster theology’s dialogue with astrobiology...

New Plant Confirmed To Have Double-Star System

A team led by astronomers from NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and San Diego State University have used NASA’s Kepler Space Telescope to identify the new planet, Kepler-1647b, and even more remarkably, found that it orbits a double-star system. This newly found planet is 3,700 light-years away and approximately 4.4 billion years old, roughly the same age as Earth, with their stars being similar to our sun, one slightly larger than our home star and the other slightly smaller. The planet has a mass and radius nearly identical to that of Jupiter, making it the largest transiting circumbinary planet ever found. “It’s...

Journey To The Fourth Dimension Of The Brain

A new paper has been published in Cognitive Neurodynamics, which suggests that the brain may have an extra fourth dimension. Researchers Arturo Tozzi and James F. Peters illustrate what they were looking for and the conclusion they reached by outlining the following; “How do thoughts flow in the brain? Current advances in neuroscience emphasize the role of energetic landscapes, a sort of functional linens equipped with peaks, valleys and basins made of free-energy, where thoughts move, following erratic and/or constrained trajectories. This review, based on recent findings, introduces the concept of a spatial fourth dimension, where brain functions might take place, as...

Proof Of TR-3B Spacecraft?

A new video, which was submitted to MUFON for review, may be the first actual footage ever recorded of a TR-3B spacecraft. TR-3B is allegedly a secret “black project” spy craft of the US Government that can be flown into space, suggesting that these crafts are created at top-secret military bases like Area 51 in Nevada, by reverse engineering alien technology. An unnamed witness who claims to have recorded the fabled craft flying over a major highway, said “Triangular UFO hovered over route 45 in Mantua, New Jersey, and turned on its side over the road, and then flew...

Dark Thirty Radio – June 14th, 2016

Tonight On Dark Thirty Radio Proof Of TR-3B Spacecraft? A new video, which was submitted to MUFON for review, may be the first actual footage ever recorded of a TR-3B spacecraft. An unnamed witness who claims to have recorded the fabled craft flying over a major highway, said “Triangular UFO hovered over route 45 in Mantua, New Jersey, and turned on its side over the road, and then flew sideways towards Philadelphia” and described the craft as flying extremely slowly, at just around 10 miles per hour. MUFON is still investigating the new footage. Source: Express.Co.UK UFO Spotted Over Turkey Numerous sighting...

It’s A Bird, It’s A Plane, It’s…The Greatest Superhero Of All Time!

An awesome new 7 year study concluded from England’s University of Leicester in regards to which superhero is in fact the ultimate superhero and the winner has been revealed to be…Superman. I can hear the cheers and sneers now, but these student researchers have been applying scientific principles to superhero battles since 2009, composing a list of the top thirteen powers that various superheroes have, as well as their fatal or near-fatal weaknesses. The 12 superheroes that lead the way were included; the Flash, Silver Surfer, Black Bolt and Thor, Wolverine, Batman, and Mystic, surprisingly the only female to make the cut....

Dark Thirty Radio – June 13th, 2016

Tonight On Dark Thirty Radio  Chances Of Past Civilizations Having Existed Just Got Higher The probabilistic argument used to arrive at an estimate of the number of active, communicative extraterrestrial civilizations in the Milky Way galaxy was first described in 1960 by American astronomer and astrophysicist, Frank Drake, known as the Drake equation, was giving an new revision by two astronomers and the results are astounding. The University of Washington’s Woody Sullivan and the University of Rochester’s Adam Frank published their assessment in the May issue of Astrobiology and Frank is now in the process of a follow-up for the New York Times...

AI In Space

NASA has agreed to pay as much as $100,000 to Made in Space to conduct a feasibility study on the concept of turning asteroids into spacecraft. Made in Space is the company that has put two 3D printers on the International Space Station to serve the needs of NASA, and the company’s next goal is to pioneer the manufacturing of materials in space, using resources in space. Several companies, including Planetary Resources and Deep Space Industries, have talked about developing probes to travel to asteroids, surveying the asteroids for resources including water ice and precious metals, and bringing those materials back to the...

A Newly Found Exoplanet May See Its End Before It Gets Starts

A new study suggests one of the youngest alien worlds ever detected may not be long for this universe. Jupiter-like exoplanet candidate PTFO8-8695b, which lies about 1,100 light-years from Earth, in the constellation Orion, was first identified as a planet candidate in 2012 by the Palomar Transient Factory’s Orion survey, but now study lead author Christopher Johns-Krull, of Rice University in Houston, said “We don’t know the ultimate fate of this planet.” The “hot Jupiter” orbits extremely close to its host star, completing one lap every 11 hours, and was detected by the “transit method,” which notes the tiny brightness dips...

Mars Rover To Get Helicopter Sidekick

Consideration is being taken at NASA, regarding wither or not they should prepare to send a miniature helicopter to Mars to serve as an aerial scout for its Mars 2020 rover. With the intentions of using the helicopter as a technology demonstrator, it would be the first vehicle to traverse through the thin Martian atmosphere. NASA says they would use the solar-powered helicopter, which would be outfitted with GoPro-type cameras, to scout safe and efficient routes for the rover. It should have enough power to make two- to three-minute flights every day covering about 550 yards per sortie. Bob Balaram, chief engineer...

The Pros and Cons Of Drones

Dubai International Airport, the world’s busiest airport for international travel, and base of the long-haul carrier Emirates, closed for over an hour after a drone flew into its airspace. The airport says the closure disrupted flights for 69 minutes on Saturday and it is not the first time this sort of attack has hit. In Poland, authorities at Warsaw’s international airport say they had to suspend all landings briefly because of two unauthorized drones flying in the area where planes approach for landing. Poland’s regulations forbid flying drones within a 12-mile radius from airports, although drones have been spotted on some previous occasions near...
